Our customer is a national private company that specializes in providing localized somatic and acute psychiatric health care for patients, generally by contracting with the state to supplement government owned and operated facilities. Encompass currently services three of this network’s residential hospitals and two outpatient clinics.
Engagement
While the company is a single entity with a unified culture and environment, each of the locations functions as an individual client. This means that while there are many commonalities across the facilities, we communicate and coordinate with several distinct customers. As with many healthcare customers, our team must be equally qualified to provide residential housekeeping alongside hospital grade sanitation. Our SOW includes EVS, porter, all types of flooring replacement, exterior pressure washing and soft wash roof care.
Why it Works
A primary reason that this relationship has been successful and continues to grow is due to our in-house health care expertise. Our Healthcare Director of Operations is an expert in medical platforms, complex compliance regulations and infectious disease control who literally wrote the algorithm for Covid disinfecting in South Florida in partnership with the head of epidemiology. He meets monthly with each customer’s internal compliance and infectious disease teams to ensure compliance and flag any concerns . Our SOP grants us the authority to leverage this expertise to proactively act on any potential HAI related conditions. Additionally, our EVS team functions as part of the patient care team. Led by well-trained on-site managers, these front line workers see residents daily and know to immediately alert medical staff if they observe anything amiss with a patient.
Additionally our technology, specifically our proprietary software platform, Encompass One, has elevated the hospitals’ ability to manage staffing, measure efficacy, confirm quality and serves as an indisputable source of data and proof points for compliance requirements.
Results
Our ability to identity and help prevent outbreaks of HAI inside the hospitals has resulted in cost savings associated with not having to transfer patients with acute cases of highly infectious diseases to specialty facilities. We have also leveraged our national purchasing clout to secure and pass on best pricing on chemicals and supplies to our customers.
The most telling result, however, is how our performance is evaluated by the joint commissions under the auspices of the AHCA (Florida Agency of Healthcare Administration. Encompass consistently scores “5/5 Excellent” scores on the performance surveys that are the gold standard for quality for non-governmental healthcare facilities.
